The Bridge at ACES and ACES REGIONS Assistant Principal Appointed

(Hamden, CT – July 8, 2024) — Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is pleased to announce the appointment of John (Jack) F. Kitching as the Assistant Principal for The Bridge at ACES and ACES REGIONS. Jack brings a wealth of experience in education and school leadership, particularly in alternative education settings, making him an ideal fit for this crucial role.

With a background in educational leadership and teaching, Jack has demonstrated a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence and supporting the diverse needs of students. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Human Rights from the University of Connecticut, along with a master’s in education and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Connecticut, Hartford. Jack has completed extensive certifications, including Connecticut Teaching Provisional Certificate in Social Studies 7-12 and Connecticut Education Administration and Supervision with a Special Education Concentration.

Jack's journey in education has been marked by significant achievements, including his role as Team Leader for both programs, where he spearheaded the development of alternative education programs and contributed to the enhancement of school culture and youth justice through restorative practices and curriculum development.

As Assistant Principal, Jack will oversee all aspects of school culture, continuous improvement, and academic success at The Bridge at ACES and ACES REGIONS. His responsibilities will include curriculum development, personnel management, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment that meets the unique needs of juvenile justice students.
