ACES at Chase language arts classes are structured in a Reader’s and Writer’s Workshop model. Comprehension skills and strategies are modeled with mentor texts, giving students choice of their independent reading materials. Students explore, analyze, and evaluate a variety of genres in their reading and writing, including narratives, informational texts, argument, speeches, drama, and poetry.
