Welcome to the Library Media Center

The vision of the library media center is to expose students to diverse text and provide them with strategies and tools to problem-solve, so they can become productive citizens who enrich their communities. The mission is to offer varied reading opportunities, provide space and resources that foster creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. This is achieved by working collaboratively with teachers and students in support of the STEAM theme.

The ACES at Chase Library Media Center is an inviting, multi-purpose space boasting two floors with comfortable seating areas for reading and research, a learning lab, green screen, 3D and photography printers, iPads, Chromebook loaners, and more! Introductory sessions are provided for all incoming sixth graders to familiarize them with policies, procedures, and expectations. The library media center ensures students are represented in literature, by offering both fiction and non-fiction texts written in students’ native languages as well as literature about diverse perspectives in social issues, empathy and advocacy, covering race, gender identity, ethnicity, religion, living with disabilities, and more. Diversity is infused to acknowledge, form an understanding of, and celebrate diverse backgrounds. Every student is represented in what they read. Students can be seen selecting text or reading in various learning spaces, utilizing their Chromebooks investigating various topics and areas of research.
