Kevin Keating Named Director of ACES Pupil Services
September 16th, 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(North Haven, CT – September 13, 2022) Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Keating as Director of ACES Pupil Services. Kevin will commence his new position starting September 13, 2022. Prior to Kevin’s promotion as Director of Pupil Services, he was the Assistant Director of Pupil Services at ACES.
“It is an exciting time for the ACES Pupil Services division as we increase our capacity to serve the students and staff of ACES schools and our member districts,” said Dr. Thomas Danehy, Executive Director of ACES. “Kevin Keating comes to ACES with a breadth of experience in special education and leadership that will enhance our current programs and help develop innovative ways to support the needs of children with disabilities in the ACES region.”
Kevin holds a sixth-year certificate in Educational Leadership from Quinnipiac University, a Master of Science degree in Health Education from Southern Connecticut State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wheelock College.
“I am beyond excited to take on the role as Director of Pupil Services alongside the ACES Pupil Services Administrative Team and assist with providing services to all ACES schools and member districts,” said Keating. “I come to you with a variety of teaching and leadership experience. My tenure includes, first and foremost, being a special education teacher. I have also served as an assistive technology consultant and, most recently, as a Director of Special Services. In each of my roles, I have prided myself in building strong relationships with students and families and working closely with teachers and support staff to advocate for and meet the needs of all students.”
Kevin will manage special education programming within ACES schools and programs. In addition, he will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of relevant professional development in the area of special education that supports the work and needs of school districts. Kevin comes with an extensive knowledge of ACES, as the former Assistant Director of Pupil Services, which will serve him well as he will actively participate in the state, regional, and agency activities that promote ACES educational interests and general awareness of current practices throughout the ACES community.
