ACES Announces New Assistant Principal at ACES Mill Road School

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(North Haven, CT – August 8, 2022) Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) is pleased to announce the promotion of William A. Shanley as Assistant Principal of ACES Mill Road School. He will join Assistant Principal Olafemi Hunter and Principal Kerri Gilmore on the ACES Mill Road School administration team.
“We are very excited to have William step up as the new Assistant Principal at ACES Mill Road School,” said Dr. Thomas Danehy, Executive Director of ACES, “Mill Road is a school for students with emotional disabilities and Mr. Shanley is known for his standards of excellence, patience, and caring disposition. He will make an excellent addition to the administration team.”
Under the supervision of ACES Mill Road School Principal Kerri Gilmore and as Assistant Principal, William Shanley will be responsible for the overall administration of instructional programs and campus-level operations for the ASPIRE and Urban Youth Programs. These programs serve students from New Haven Public Schools in grades K-8, who need a smaller environment to support their educational, behavioral, or socio-emotional needs.
William holds a sixth-year diploma in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University, a Master of Education in Comprehensive Special Education from Auburn University, and a Bachelor of Science in History/Social Studies and Secondary Education from Southern Connecticut State University.
Prior to William Shanley’s promotion as Assistant Principal, he was a teacher at ACES Mill Road School for fourteen years, serving in a variety of teaching assignments. William has also taught in the East Haven Collaborative program at ACES, after originally beginning his teaching career in Alabama. Additionally, William is a Connecticut Army National Guard Veteran. With all of these combined leadership skills and educational experiences, Mr. Shanley will do an exceptional job serving as Assistant Principal at ACES Mill Road School and will provide incredible support for students.
