ACES Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School to Host Street Fest
June 7th, 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(North Haven, CT – June 7, 2022) ACES Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School is proud to present ACES WIMS Street Fest, Friday, June 10, 2022, at 88 Bassett Road, North Haven, CT 06473. Street Fest is where students will showcase their “Arts Entrepreneurship” in a creative, hands-on way.
ACES Wintergreen Interdistrict Magnet School or ACES WIMS, where the arts inspire learning, is a K-8 school in North Haven, CT that serves over 600 students primarily from the following districts: Hamden, Meriden, New Haven, Wallingford, and Waterbury, as well as, from other districts within New Haven County. Students can enroll through the ACES Magnet School Parent Choice program. ACES WIMS provides students with the opportunity for creative expression, critical thinking, building self-confidence, developing communication skills, and appreciating the arts by providing multi-cultural experiences for all students through unique artistic disciplines (dance, drama, music, choir, visual and media arts.) Classroom teachers and arts specialists collaborate to connect the academic concepts studied in the classroom to the arts, in annual grade-level performances and Arts Showcase Expos.
ACES WIMS students from kindergarten through 8th grade have been working on becoming “merchants” as the school comes alive through the arts. Each class will be selling items from slime, coasters, flower pots, baked goods, and so much more. Along with the young entrepreneurs that will be at Street Fest, there will also be entertainment such as singers, violinists, salsa dancing, and much more.
“Our students are super excited about gearing up and preparing for ACES WIMS Street Fest, said Ingrid Ellinger-Doviak, Magnet Coach at ACES Wintergreen. “This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their entrepreneurial skills. The WIMS students are all hands-on deck from the marketing of this event to becoming merchants selling their own creations.”
ACES WIMS Street Fest kicks off Friday, June 10th from 11 am to 2 pm. The excitement and fun continue from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. During this time, there will be food trucks, rides, music, and dancing. Don’t miss it!
