ACES at CHASE – Our STEAM Night Open House is Magnetic!
May 6th, 2022
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Waterbury, CT – May 6, 2022) ACES at Chase is a Public STEAM Academy on a Private Campus. Have you had the chance to visit our new school location, conveniently located off I-84 on 47 picturesque acres in the west end of Waterbury, CT? Would you consider sending your middle school student to our premier interdistrict middle school for grades 6-8 for the next school year? We are the only middle school in the state of Connecticut with a distinguished recognition by Project Lead the Way, our featured engineering and computer science program that is offered to all of our students.
Seeing is believing! On Thursday, May 12, 2022, ACES at Chase will host a STEAM Night for our students, their families, and the community to share how ACES at Chase students put Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) to work. There will be hands-on exhibits, fascinating student exhibits, a Science of Gardening Club Plant Sale, the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo, a Power Surge 4-H Robotics Club display, and many more surprises in store. Admission is FREE, but children must be accompanied by an adult! Reservations are requested; visit the website at www.aces.org/chase. Refreshments and snacks will be sold by the TOPS students.
ACES at Chase was one of 12 schools in Connecticut, and one of 244 schools nationally, to receive the National Magnet School of Distinction by Magnet Schools of America. This incredible honor and recognition are bestowed by member educators of Magnet Schools of America. Each school is judged and scored on its demonstrated ability to raise student academic achievement, promote racial and socioeconomic diversity, provide integrated curricula and instruction, and create a strong family and community partnerships that enhance the school’s magnet theme.
The mission of ACES at Chase is to prepare students for success through innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM). Our cohesive learning paradigm is based on real-world applications, career connections, and the 4 C’s: creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. ACES at Chase staff collaborate with families and community partners to empower students to engineer, write, grow and create their futures. We follow this process on a strategic planning level; also, by examining the interest of parents, the feedback from our education partners, and the organizational collaborations that can be enhanced by growing our offerings, we look forward to expanding one grade at a time to reach our potential as a fully accredited grades 6-12 Middle/High Magnet Program.
Placement at ACES at Chase is 100% based on lottery and more than ⅓ of our students travel from outside the city to attend our school. It’s magnetic - the application - the draw - the choice! Rolling admission season is here and we will not stop until all available seats are full!
Can’t attend the STEAM Night? RSVP for a Spring Campus Tour: a guided 45-minute walking experience inclusive of Q & A on Wednesday, May 25th at 3:30 p.m. If interested, please email jzembruski@aces.org (space is limited).
