ACES Transportation Drivers gather together for a Bus Rodeo
September 19th, 2016
Each year the ACES Transportation Drivers gather together for a "Bus RODEO"! The driver's test their skills on a course and is a unique learning opportunity for operators and the teams to engage with each other. The Bus Rodeo is an annual safety and skills competition for bus operators who volunteer to participate. Not mandatory but testing their skills is always and ongoing and learning environment for the ACES Drivers.
The main focus of a School Bus Rodeo is SAFETY. The more training and practice a driver has the safer he or she will be. At the Rodeo drivers compete against each other, we enjoy the day of fun, learning and safety followed by a picnic with other ACES staff.
In addition, we have a "Tie Down Tie Off" drivers will test their skills utilizing a wheelchair bus and securing the chair in real time. A competitive time for all, our Assistant Executive Director Timothy Howes is the competition amongst beginners and proves to be the one to beat.
