ACES Thomas Edison Middle School Students Participate in CAMPY Program at Central Connecticut State University

June 6th, 2013

CAMPY, an acronym that stands for the Connecticut Association of Mathematically Precocious Youth, is designed for students that are gifted in math. The program provides students who are proficient in math a “true college classroom experience.” Participating TEMS students spent the day at the Central Connecticut State University campus. They had ten course options to choose from (one morning and one afternoon session). The sessions are taught by CCSU professors. " The day was all about math, and that's my favorite subject" enthused Zak a 6th grade student. Two students from each team at TEMS are selected by their math teacher to participate in the program. TEMS teachers Gina Zaleski and Michael Olson organized the program.
