Tough jobs climate doesn't stop top firms from hiring

Area Cooperative Education Services, named fifth among large companies in the top workplaces survey, employs close to 900 people in 14 buildings, including the eight magnet and special education schools that it manages as a district. The North Haven-based company, one of six regional education service centers in the state, divides resources between two divisions, the nonprofit services provider and the regional school district. Jobs within the organization can include therapists, teachers, administrators, and drivers to operate the 120 vehicles that ACES provides as transportation for students and clients with special needs.
